Fountain of Youth: Winning Smile, Can-Do
Attitude and Exercise
Jody’s
Lifestyle Is All About Drinking From the Fountain
If you need proof
that the fountain of youth is a combination of exercise and a
positive outlook, then you just have to meet Jody. The first thing
you’ll notice is her winning smile, cheerful disposition and
contagious laugh.
This 30-something
wife, mother of two and part time radiologist walks the talk of a
healthy lifestyle – due, in large part, to seeing first-hand how
exercise helped her mother. “I watched my mom recognize the
benefits of exercise these past few years,” reflected Jody. “I saw
her overcome health challenges through exercise – being able to move
with greater ease, increased energy and an overall greater sense of
well-being.”
Seeing these
changes in her mom motivated Jody to embrace a lifestyle that
incorporates exercise on a daily basis. At least 3 times a week, she
comes to the Studio to participate in a variety of classes. It’s
not unusual to find her sweating to great music in a Spinning class
or sculpting her muscles in Pump, Butts-n-Guts. “I like the changes
in my body – I feel strong, powerful and (best of all) I can run
circles around my kids!” she smiled.
Although Jody has
the dedication to exercise at home, she loves the Studio. “The
personal touch really means a lot to me,” she remarked. “I know
that when I come to exercise, the instructors know who I am, I am
building friendships with other people who are committed to their
health and if I don’t come, I know that Roxanne will call me to
check up on me!”
When asked to share
a few gems of wisdoms, Jody paused.
Family is incredibly important.
These relationships are filled with give and take – and it
requires a lot of effort, love and patience to make sure that
the family relationships continue to stay strong.
It’s important to have faith. When
I look at my many roles – a mother who is raising two beautiful
children, a wife who is dedicated to my husband and a part time
professional in the medical field – I realize that for me,
everything comes back to my relationship with God. That is what
gets me going through any rough time.
Be content with where you are. One
of my favorite quotes of all times comes from Sheryl Crow: It's
not having what you want … It's wanting what you've got. I was
listening to her song, Soak up the Sun, and the lyrics
just hit me. She’s right – it’s really being happy with your
life and where it is at any given time.
Keep up the great
work, Jody! You’re an inspiration to us – and a part of our fountain
of youth!

feel strong, powerful and - best of all - I can run circles around
my kids!”
